What I Wore Wednesday
Hat - Found it in the winter stuff bin (and I claimed it) // Undershirt - Wal-Mart // Shirt - Target // Pants - American Eagle (Thanks Brooke) // Boots - Stitches
Okay, so these pictures are from quite a while back. But, I thought I'd use them for a this What I Wore Wednesday post, since it's been rainy and yucky outside all day...and I didn't feel like taking any more photos out there.
So toques are basically my staple winter clothing item. I honestly could not live without my toques.
I'm not really sure where I got this red one, but I love it!
Keep wearing those toques!

They say you can tell a lot about a girl by the contents of her purse....
I guess from emptying and looking through the contents of my purse, you could easily tell that I like to be prepared ( Knife, CPR card ). You might also assume that I care about my looks ( Foundation, Eyeliner, Lip Gloss, Lip Balm, Bobby pins ). Maybe I am a little over the top with the amount of beauty products I carry with me in that small purse, but I just kind of throw in random stuff. I always carry with me a pencil and a pen though, because you never know when you'll need one! A wallet is essential for me, whether it has money in it or not. I always bring my wallet. Oh, and that random piece of paper above the eyeliner is an old Fortune cookie fortune that says "Nobody's Perfect". I honestly don't know why I have it in there, but it does have a good reminder written on it. I have my glasses case with me at all times, along with a small cloth to clean my specs with. And I never go anywhere without my hand sanitizer (no I'm not a germaphobe). Because it smells amazing! and it makes my hands clean :b
So there you have it folks! One of those typical posts from your typical blogger. It's actually surprising how much stuff I can jam into that little yellow purse. XD Maybe you want to try dumping out the contents of your purse? If you're not my Mom, go for it! It'll give you the chance to re-organize ;)

Catching Up
Sorry I haven't really posted anything recently. The Nexicom tower near our house burnt down, so I haven't had Internet last week. Not Fun :( But, it would probably be best for me to catch up with you a bit now that I do have internet. Right?
Sunday was crazy busy! My Mom and I planned a HUGE baby shower for a lady at our church. We spent the whole day setting up, having the party, and taking down. It turned out really nice though (see below for photos).
Monday was a lazy kind of day. We didn't do any school, we were all exhausted from Sunday. So we slept in, and really didn't do much.
Tuesday was more of a "let's get back on track" kind of day. We homeschooled, and cleaned. Not too exciting....especially with no internet.
Wednesday was another busy day. I babysat the girls while my Mom went to a midwife appointment, and did a lot of schoolwork. At around 7:30, me and my Dad went to an art show/sale/competition that my artwork was in (see below). I found out that I won 1st place! and I sold the photo as well. Pretty exciting eh? Yeah, I was happy :)
Thursday was pretty laid back. We worked, cleaned, and yeah....basically didn't do much
Friday I went to a gym class and co-op. Then my lovely friend had me over for a sleepover. Complete with walking through stores with British accents. Oh, yes. We're awesome.
Saturday was spent hanging out with Brooke :) very unproductive, but fun.
Saturday was Babysitting day! After church
And today, is looking like it's going to be another school day. I'm already looking forward to the weekend :/ Have a great Monday! and enjoy these photos from last week :)

Etsy Review // Vision City
Hi Everyone! Today I am super duper excited to be featuring Melanie Greenwood's shop, Vision City. Now, for those of you who don't know, Melanie has worked with various Christian artists (including her husband Manafest) to create unique designs for music albums. The Colour, Anthem for Today, and Flame, are just a few of her clients. I just recently started looking at her work, and I am so inspired by everything from her logo design, to photography. Melanie is truly talented, and passionate for her work. I am so grateful to her for spending her time to answer these questions for me.
What inspired you to start your business in the first place?
I always knew I wanted to be an "Artist" when I grew up but did not necessarily know which medium. Design became a natural fit for me because it incorporated several loves of mine... photography, typography, hand sketching, painting...etc.
My hubby and I (well, at the time he was my boyfriend..lol) decided to be biz partners when were were younger. The biz was all about Music and Art. But as I got more into Design and Photography, I started to feel like the art "side" of the biz needed its own branding, so while on tour in Copenhagen, I decided to name the "Art department" Vision City, because I was traveling on music tours at the time with my hubby and visiting new Cities daily were part of my life. So Vision City was born. Since then, its grown into its own company with its own products.

What do you think makes Vision City unique from others?
Vision City is about much more then art to me, its about being an inspiration. I do not just rush through art jobs and move on to the next one. I literally look for ways to inspire with every project. I always want their to be a light in my work. Also, all out Vision City Products use only black ink. This has become sort of a fun continual signature.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to get into design?
What inspires you most when it comes to designing your prints?
What tools do you use?
A large black sketchbook, pens, a 17" Macbook Pro, paint, Canon 5D Mark 2 camera, 50 mm lens, wide angle lens,
random cloth textures I have around my apartment, anything and everything...lol.
Thank you so much Melanie for your time. I really appreciate it.

Awkward & Awesome
Awkward:
Attempting this pin. FAIL. // Being awoken from your beauty sleep by two noisy sisters // Not getting out much. At all. //
Awesome:
New glasses // Baby chicks // Adventures Odyssey // Sleeping in late // Taking pictures, and getting them developed. // Feeling little baby kicks // hats // And this being my 150th post!! //
Sorry, I haven't had much awkward and awesome stuff going on lately, so this week's edition is pretty short :)

DIY Chalkboard Frame
Yesterday My Mom and I were trying to think of Decoration ideas for a Baby shower we're doing. We have made many trips to the dollar store while planning this event, and she happened to randomly pick up this cheap plastic mirror. I think it was like 1.25, but how would we incorporate a mirror into baby shower decor? Well, my brain started thinking...and I came up with the idea of a chalkboard frame (Well, technically I got the idea from Pinterest). Since I had some chalkboard paint on hand, and a nice sturdy piece of cardboard, I got to work. I broke out the mirror in the middle, and cut out a piece of cardboard to fit in the mirror. I then painted it with several coats of chalkboard paint, let it dry (thoroughly), and then rubbed some chalk over the board and then rubbed it off again. I carefully slipped it into the frame, and rubbed some more chalk over the surface, then rubbed it off again. (It's very important to rub chalk on and off of the board to get the surface ready)
This project was super easy and fast to make, not to mention seriously inexpensive! I think I spent a total of about 3.00 on the supplies, and about 15 minutes of time (I used a hairdryer).
Well, that's my DIY for the week :)
I hope you guys liked it! I think it will make a nice addition to the shower.

My New Specs
So, some of you may not know that I wear glasses. Well, sometimes I wear glasses. I've been a bit rebellious lately, and haven't been wearing them as much as I should. They are prescription, so without them.....I can't see. I walk around squinting at everything, and probably look like a total dork, but they bug me. I think every child goes through a fase in their life when they want to have glasses. And, if you were a kid like me....you might even fake that you can't see stuff, just so you can visit the optomatrist. Yeah, I was bad. But, eventually I actually did start to have trouble seeing, and the next thing you know....I got a prescription. I guess it's like they say, " Be careful what you wish for, becasue it might just come true ". So as of now I've had a total of 3 different frames since then, and I'd like to show you my newest ones.
Even though they are quite a pain to wear, glasses really do make a statement. Just look around at all the (what I call imposters) teens wearing fake plastic frames on their faces now-a-days. I think my new glasses are starting to grow on me. I like them. :) What do you think?

PS: I got these glasses Here for about 25.00 plus shipping.
