I've been awarded

Woohoo! I was awarded by Autumn over at Autumn Bouquet Apparently I have to answer these questions for you. Here goes nothin' :O)

11 things about myself:

1. My favourite colour is yellow.
2. I have hazel eyes.
3. I can be a complete loner at times.
4. I am a christian.
5. I am a homeschooler.
6. I love Macaws.
7. I have 5 (almost 6) siblings.
8. This is my first time being tagged.
9. My birthday is September 28th.
10. I LOVE good music.
11. I have not had a sunburn all summer :O) (that one was completely random)

Autumn's 11 questions and my 11 answers:

1 // What is the most adventurous thing you've ever done? Probably trying to swim in the deep end without a life jacket at age four and almost drowning :/  That was pretty adventurous...and stupid.
2 // If you could choose anywhere to go for a vacation, what would be your pick? Florida. To attend a drawing workshop with Lee Hammond.
3 // Have you ever eaten desert first? (guilty!) Oh yes. Multiple times.
4 // Did you cry at the ending scene in Tangled? (again, guilty!) No. But I did cry at the ending scene of Toy story 3. Go figure that out! LOL
5 // How tall are you? 5 foot 5? last time I checked...
6 // Would you ever go swimming in the winter? In an indoor pool or hot-tub, yes. Outdoors, no.
7 // If you could only have one thing for breakfast every morning for the rest of your life, what would it be? Smoothies :o) I love a good smoothie in the morning.
8 // Contacts or glasses? Glasses.....for now :o)
9 // What is one of your passions? I have a strong passion for Art (and God, but you said only one)
10 // What is the most embarrassing this that has ever happened to you? Ummm.....recently I was playing "I've never" with my youth group, and the guy in the middle said "I've never been a girl". I forgot how to play, and kept on sitting while all the girls got up and switched places. Oops :/ all the guys were like, "'ve never been a girl?" I was pretty embarrassed.
11 // Favorite Scripture verse? hmmm that's a tough one. I have multiple favourite verses, but one of them is 1 Peter 2:6
For in Scripture it says, "See I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame".

Alrighty, I hope I did it right. Now I have to choose some more people to tag...

Sydney Ellen from

3 // Choose up to 11 bloggers linking them to your post.
4 // Go to their page and inform them of the nomination.
5 // Absolutely NO tag backs.
6 // Remember to ONLY tag bloggers with less than 200 follo

Here are the 11 questions Sydney, Ty, Mikayla, and Emily have to answer.

1. // What's your favourite colour?

3. // What time is it right now?
4. // How tall are you?

Now have fun! Thanks again Autumn :O) this was fun.

I've been doodling....Well, somewhat. I'm just now realizing how much fun it is to just draw random objects, and not try to make them look super realistic. It's pretty stress free if you ask me. Here is a drawing I did today. They say you can tell a lot about a girl by the contents of her purse...

Fashion These Days // part two

I hope all you guys liked part one of the series "Fashion These Days"and continue to like part two. This week I thought I'd share with you some of my beauty tips. Here we go!

1. Make-up :
This is a kind of harder subject to cover, because I don't really wear any makeup. But, I am a teenager who is prone to acne so I do use some cover-up from time to time. Other than that, the odd time I might wear mascara or eyeliner for special occasions. When I do though, I make sure the make-up is only applied enough to slightly enhance the appearance of my eyes, and not to overtake the rest of my face. My Tip for you is just to make sure your not overdoing the make-up. Remember, people like natural looking faces too.

"Pants or Skirts?" At "Growing Home". Good answers for modest Christian ladies!
2. Dresses/skirts :
I love dresses and skirts! Because they make me feel more girly. Anyone ever get tired of the same old jeans? I do. And every once and a while it's nice to break out the skirts. I like the long flowy maxi skirts best, but the shorter ones are nice too. Dresses are a little bit harder to find in stores nowadays. Now, your probably thinking "Wait a minute, did she just say it's hard to find dresses? No it's not!". Well, let me clarify.....It's hard to find Dresses, like actual decent ones that don't just make it past your butt. The good old fashioned ones, if you must. Shabby Apple is a great place to go for cute, modest dresses. These days there are so many Shabby Apple giveways I bet if you just entered every single one you wouldn't even have to pay for the dress yourself! WOOT! Old Navy actually has some pretty good dresses and skirts usually, for pretty good prices too. So my advice on skirts/dresses is always try and be modest, not flirty or showy. You can still be considered attractive in a skirt that goes down below the knees.

3. Tops :
Walking into most any clothing store these days you will find almost all shirts are "go low or go home". What's with that?  V-necks I don't mind so much. But V-necks that show too much cleavage I do mind. Would it be too much to ask you to throw on a camisole under that? Or even a scarf can be a stylish way to cover up a low cut shirt. There are so many possibilities. I definitely am guilty of owning low cut shirts myself though. It's hard when your absolute favourite shirt is the one that comes down just a little too low. I'm totally struggling with it myself. But there are so many solutions that it really shouldn't be a problem. Just figure out what works best for you.

Perky Side Pony
4. Hair :
Right now your probably thinking "How can someone who has a pixie cut give hair advice?" Well I still remember what it's like to have long hair. It's hard. Just hard. I had wavy/frizzy hair and it was super frustrating. But the thing is, everyone's hair will keep on being frustrating until you take the time and effort to care for it. Consider investing in some nice paraben free shampoo and conditioner. It's healthy for your hair, and of course keeps it clean. If you have wavy hair, definitely consider purchasing a hair straightener. You will never regret buying a good straightener. A good brand to buy from is Connair. Regarding hair products such as gels and hair sprays, try and go natural. Let your hair be itself and try not to make it look super harsh by putting gel or spray in it. If you are going to buy hair products such as those, I will strongly suggest trying to buy paraben free products. You want to be very careful what chemicals you are dumping on your scalp.

pants pants pants
5. Pants:
Many people would not consider jeans or pants to be immodest, or a problem. And many pants aren't immodest or a problem. But it's those jeans that are so tight you'd just think they painted their legs blue. Those I consider to be immodest. I am a big fan of jeans. Whoever invented them.....*high five* you rock! But I think we have to be careful with how tight they are. Sure they cover all of your legs. But are they are so tight that the whole shape of your leg is revealed? That is the question we must ask ourselves. As for what style of pants to buy. Well, I prefer buying the "boyfriend" style jeans. (just becuase they seem to look better on me) But I always make sure they are nice and loose around my legs and bottom. Sometimes rolling the bottoms up creates a cute look. I always role mine up. Sometimes I will also just buy a pair of straight cut jeans. They work too, since I'm not a big fan of the jeans that flair out at the bottoms. So yeah, that's my advice I guess.

Thanks for reading! Sorry it took me so long.

graphically delicious.

What I Wore // Wednesday

shirt : Joe Fresh, pants: Wal-Mart, sunglasses: Joe Fresh, shoes: Alfred Sung

Well, my first fashion post. Are you proud of me? I am a big fan of coloured jeans....i must confess. I was pretty desperate for a pair. So when I saw these on sale at Wal-mart I had to get them. They are actually Jeggings. Could you tell? I'm normally like a size 6, but I got size 11 for these, becuase I didn't want them to look like jeggings. The only problem is that they are low-rise and they are a little too baggy. Oh well, I saw some cool coloured jeans at Old Navy so maybe I'll go there. My shirt, well I've been buying a lot of striped stuff lately. I don't know why, but whatever. I finally got myself a pair of sunglasses! I know, I waited until August (what's with that). I love them so much though.  Anyway...I guess that about raps up today's "what I wore". I know it's not Wednesday, but this is what I wore on Wednesday and I just took too long to post it. :o) I hope you liked this outfit!

Thanks to Amy for taking these photos of me.

Anyway, I finally have a real post for you guys! Today I did a photoshoot with my sister Amy. So I thought I'd share with you some of my favourites. Enjoy.

Thanks Amy!

New Name

Yay! I have a new name, In Real Life......literally. Don't ask me why I chose this name, because I honestly just couldn't think of anything. I was just bored of "The Handmade Blog". It didn't have enough randomness I guess. But, thanks anyway to friends who helped me with name ideas. Even though I didn't use them, I really appreciate your help....and sorry I didn't choose "Terry's Balloon" LOL So I hope you like the new header, the new name, and the future new design (who knows what could happen?). Thank you sooo much for reading my blog! It means soooo much to me :o)

Fashion these days // part 1

Well, sorry my's been a while. This summer has been super busy, if you know what I mean. Anyways, I thought I'd take this very precious time to share with you something that has been very close to my heart for a long time now. You may not know this about me, but I am very "in to" fashion. I love dressing up for no reason, and shopping just for fun (it's waaaay too dangerous though). And one of the things that makes me quite upset is seeing other girls trying to be fashionable, and in on the latest trends, while selling themselves. By selling I mean -  They're trying to attract attention by the way they dress (and not necessarily good attention either) , not how they behave. What's even more upsetting is that what is found Attractive these days is hardly considered descent. The fads are changing daily, and I have given up trying to follow them. I mean, how many girls have you seen in the past week wearing.....short shorts, tight tanks or crop tops, the same sunglasses, the same shoes, the same everything? I'd say I can't even count how many girls I've seen dress pretty much the same way. Every where I look, it's the same thing....and it's boring. But it's that one girl with the cool glasses, and the vintage skirt that really captures my attention. So really, the way to be noticed, is to really just be different....but in a good way. That good way is what I want to talk about. I personally prefer starting trends not following them. Since I cut my hair short (to a pixie cut) I have had several people I know get theirs chopped off too. Being unique makes me happy. I've had people ask me why I tuck my shirt into my pants and skirts, I just tell them "Because I like it that way". And I do. So what if I'm the only one wearing a toque instead of a hood. I don't care, because next thing you know I'm going to be the only one wearing a sombrero instead of a toque. See what I mean? How did skinny jeans become fashionable? Someone had to be the first one to wear them, and sure they might have been the only one for a long time. But look at them now! Who doesn't own skinny jeans? The point I'm trying to get across, is this - If whats in style is not what's in you wardrobe....start a new fad. Why not? If attention is what your looking for though, you have to make sure it's good attention from the right people. I you wear skimpy tops and shorts so short that they could pass for underwear, then you might be attracting the wrong attention for the wrong reasons. But, if you start wearing cardigans, and cute vintage dresses then chances are you will attract attention from people that are maybe more interested in your personality than say, your body. I always try to dress in a way that is pleasing to my parents, my family, and most importantly God. And one of the rules my family has made (as a sign of honour to the Lord), is that we are required to wear a skirt or a dress to church each Sunday. To be honest, I didn't think it would be easy at first, and I was kind of rebelling. But as time went on, I realized how fun it is to dress up pretty. Sometimes you just need to give the jeans a break (and maybe wash them for once) and break out the old dress. You never know, maybe it's the "wave of the future" . LOL So to wrap this post up, I'm just going to show you ten Awesome skirts I've found. I hope you enjoyed/enjoy!

Photo Competition // Two Things

Okay, I just thought I'd let all of you know that I have a photo competition right now on my other blog. The subject is "Birds". The competition is only running until August 31st. So if you think you have a "prize winning" photo of a bird. Please check it out -

Keep Creating,

Jean Fabric Covered Journal /// tutorial

So I decided to get crafty again. Finally I have come to you with a tutorial! Pretty Exciting eh? Yes, so I was feeling pretty guilty for not doing anything creative in a while. I pulled out my fabric box, and thought to myself. I came up with this - My Jean Fabric Covered Journal! (I'm still working on the name)......Enjoy

My Mom likes to recycle ripped jeans into shorts for my younger sisters. So we have a ton of these jean bottoms around. I thought I would recycle the recycled jeans by re-covering my old journal. Anyways....You will need a bottom of a jean leg, an old notebook, modpodge, scissors, and a paint brush. First, you will want to measure the fabric to see if will work. Then Cut the "jean tube" so that it becomes one rectangular piece of fabric. Measure the width and length of the book's spine, and cut two slots at the ends of the fabric (the width of the spine, and the length of the book apart), So that the book's spine can be glued to the fabric perfectly. Paint Mod Podge onto the cover, spine, and the back of the journal. Take the fabric and stretch it over the book tightly. Fold the ends of fabric over, and glue in place on the inner side of the cover, and back. (You might want to glue a page of the journal over the folded fabric, so that it looks nicer) Now you should be all done, and it should look something like this! (I added a little embellishment of my own onto the front)

I hope you were able to follow these instructions okay. Sorry for the horrible quality of photos :o(
